Life never goes as planned. Beneath our dreams and goals lies something that’s completely out of our control—fate.
At least that was how Noah Sørensen felt as he reflected on his past. His struggles. His mistakes. The happy moments, the sad ones, and, of course, him. Kaj Larsen.
They grew up together in a small town, navigating through the confusion of puberty as they figured themselves out and fell in love for the first time. But then tragedy hit, triggering a series of events that gave way to a painful end.
Until their paths cross again, toying with the thin line between attraction and hate.
It’s the worst idea ever, bound for failure and agony. Yet neither of them is strong enough to fight their most primal desires.

Good Pucking Luck

Hayes
Proposing to my first boyfriend at a hockey game wasn’t my smartest move. Not only does said boyfriend walk out on me, but the whole stupid thing goes viral, and it turns out the man I was dating has too many boyfriends to count. Internet fame has crowned me a member of the Jilted Exes’ Club, a name I’d do anything to escape.
One thing’s for sure: I’m not making the same mistake again. No more boyfriends, just easy hookups. And I’ll start with this gorgeous catch in Seattle. The only problem…he’s a god in bed, and I’m an inexperienced mess.

After a night with Hayes, I play some of the best games of my career. It’s meant to be a one-and-done deal, but when I find out he also lives in LA and doesn’t want anything serious, I see an opportunity.
Hayes wants experience. I want my good-luck charm to help me win the cup.
The media would go wild over a pro hockey player dating a member of the Jilted Exes’ Club—a distraction neither of us needs. We want this to stay simple. Easy. No strings, no falling in love.
Except I’m pretty sure I’ve already fallen. After all Hayes has been through, how do I get him to entrust his heart to someone who’s only ever been labeled a player on and off the ice?

by Briar Prescott

Fast forward a decade, and their feud is still going strong. When an opportunity arises to score some extra points at work they both leap at the chance.

Nothing.

But while they're busy pretending they start to see a whole different side of one another.
Maybe they're not so different after all?
Maybe they don't actually hate each other?
Maybe... Maybe they could be the perfect match?
Celebrating the Season
by Nora Phoenix
It’s weird to have a crush on Santa, right?
The whole red suit and beard should’ve been a turn-off, not to mention the reindeer and sleigh. Oh, and his age. The guy’s easily twenty years older than me.
But when I spot the super sexy Santa someone hired for my dad’s bachelor party—don’t ask—I want to sit on his lap and tell him all I want for Christmas is him.
The good news is that Santa—whose real name is Ellery—is into men and, more specifically, me. And he’s not opposed to me sitting on his lap at all. Or taking a ride on…I mean with him. We’re having our own wonderful Christmas time.
With the snow falling and the chestnuts roasting, I’m realizing I want to be with Ellery even after the holiday season ends. But does what we have stand a chance outside the magic of Christmas?
The Quirky Vet
by Casey Cox
What happens at a Las Vegas pop-up wedding chapel, stays at a Las Vegas pop-up wedding chapel… Until it doesn't.
Muir
Fitz and I have done some wild things, but waking up as newlyweds? Total disaster.
It threatens to expose the one secret I've kept buried for years, the only secret I've ever kept from my best friend—that despite us both being straight, I think I'm in love with him.
When Gramps needs me to stay married to lock in my inheritance, I'm terrified my feelings for Fitz could destroy everything we have.
Fitz
To the world, I’m the glitter-bearded, onesie-loving quirky vet. Sure, that's part of who I am, but it’s not the whole picture. Only one person truly knows me—Muir.
When he tells me he needs us to stay married so he can keep his grandfather's house, it’s a no-brainer. Of course I’ll help him out.
The real question is: why does staying married to my best friend feel so right?
Only the Small Bones
by C.P. Harris
“What makes him so special?”
“He reminds me of someone I once knew…”
As the founder of Freedom Fighters, famed music composer, William Mayes, is often the first port of call when the FBI needs assistance with human trafficking victims.
After receiving such a call one night, William abandons everything to catch the next flight home. Arriving at Manhattan Memorial, he finds a beautiful young man restrained to a gurney. His eyes are wild with fear, and blood stains his skin. No one has been successful in getting him to speak.
When even he can’t get the young man to cooperate, William does something he may later come to regret—he extends an invite to his home.
The young man is non-verbal, angry, and at times openly hateful. All of which gives him control over William’s emotions.
William slowly begins to spiral from his own struggles with his tormented past. His nightmares return, sleep becomes a lost cause, and the dark voices in his head are out for blood.
Amid their co-dependent isolation, William’s feelings evolve. Lines are blurred, and then crossed altogether as they start down a path riddled with secrets and lies of omission.
The only thing that can set them both free is the truth. But maybe some things are better left buried. Because if the ugliest parts of William are ever unearthed, no one will be spared.
Frost Impressions
by Kelly Fox
Living in a town named Christmas Falls with a name like Gray Frost, you'd think I loved Christmas.

On the contrary, I'd rather get a root canal than participate in anything remotely festive. Yet here I am—running the regional airport for commuter airlines and rich guys who have nothing better to do than fly in for the season.

Just today, I picked a fight with a pilot—the wealthy and wickedly attractive Sunny Day. He's as irritatingly cheerful as his name would suggest, even when his plane breaks down. He's a little less bright when he realizes I have the only spare bed in town.

The only point in his favor is that he hates Christmas as much as I do. When I find out what stole his joy, though, I have to wonder if the town's charms can give him back the love he once had for the holiday.
