Unrequitted love can make you blind.

I’ve crushed on the wrong person for years, all because he showed me kindness in a time when I greatly needed it. But my coach isn’t interested in me and that’s a hard pill to swallow.

The man who is interested turns out to be someone I talk to almost every day. He bids on a date with me at a charity auction and I take him on an adventurous kayaking picnic date on a large remote lake in a valley surrounded by mountains.

As it turns out, I doom our date from the beginning by not taking note of the weather report. A lightning storm strands us on a small island in the middle of the lake with a tiny cabin and only one bed. This could be awkward and disastrous if we manage to survive the storm.

Accidental Bond

by Mika Nix

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but accidentally becoming a mercenary for a demon might be the biggest one yet…

My inner dragon has always been more like a devil on my shoulder, talking me into making bad decisions and creating chaos. I have a hoard full of demon artifacts, each one likely to cost me my life if the owners ever come after me.

I thought accidentally becoming a mercenary was the worst mistake I would make in a single day… until I inadvertently mated myself to a demon. It’s not my fault his mating ring was so pretty!
It’ll be fine… all I have to do is fulfill my contract, not do anything else to make things worse, and avoid falling for the surprisingly sweet, himbo demon who thinks I’m his mate. Should be easy… right?

Wants and Needs

by Hinsel Meyer

Fate will take them down a path they never thought they’d walk.

Liam
Being Autistic, I'm an expert over thinker, but all I seem to do with Carter is react on impulse.
I’ve spent years avoiding friendships—the last one ended up an unmitigated disaster—but there’s something about Carter that effortlessly draws me in.
Maybe it’s the fact that he defended my little sister.
Maybe it’s his melodic voice.
Or maybe it’s how accepting he is of my…quirks.
I could keep listing his attributes forever and never be able to guess how he gripped me from the start.
What I do know is this has resulted in my first crush in years.

Carter
All I wanted was one friend who wasn’t grossly in love and busy planning a life of bliss with their perfect match.
When I met Liam, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. He’s a fascinating man—brilliant, kindhearted, and funny, even when he doesn’t know it.
But nothing is ever that easy.
Looking back, the road to having a fake boyfriend was simple enough:
One nasty ex.
One very important meeting.
One lie to defend Liam’s pride.
Add that all up and the result is us pretending to be happily in love.
But there’s a small detail I forgot to mention.
I’m straight—or at least that’s what I thought before Liam kissed me.

Kill Shot

Raine Gerald

He was supposed to be a pawn. Not the person who’d unravel everything.

Forged by loss, molded by revenge, and sharpened by the brutal hands of the Black Cobra gang, Nico Gutierrez has been shaped into a deadly weapon. His only goal is to destroy the Altamirano family, whose patriarch wiped out his own.

The plan is simple.

Kidnap Sebastian Altamirano, use him as bait, and draw his father, Pablo, into the open.
But nothing about Sebastian is simple.

He’s spoiled, far too trusting and soft in all the ways Nico thought he’d forgotten how to feel. When he asks Nico to pretend to be his boyfriend to escape Pablo’s suffocating control, Nico agrees to it, seeing that as just another ploy in his scheme to get closer to the enemy.

What he doesn’t expect is to fall for Seb’s wild spirit and unwavering belief in something better. There’s a light in him that draws Nico’s darkness, making him say and do things he never thought he would. Around Sebastian, Nico isn’t just a weapon. He becomes a man dangerously close to wanting something more than blood and retribution.

As desire tangles with duty and secrets start to unravel, Nico finds himself at war with the only family he’s ever known, and with his own heart. When betrayal cuts deeper than any bullet, the question isn’t just who Nico is willing to fight.
It’s who he’s willing to lose.

The Lost Art of Finding Where You Belong

by Ellie Ash

After falling hard and fast, can Perian handle the realities of a relationship with the head of the Mage Warriors?

Perian is ready to commit to this relationship, but as the head of the Mage Warriors, Brannal has duties hunting demons that take him away from the castle—and from Perian, who finds himself struggling with the absence. The rumor mill in the castle is working overtime, and some in the castle—thankfully a minority—dislike him. Perian’s not prepared when that dislike takes a violent turn.

Still, it's not all bad. Perian’s confirmed that absence makes the heart grow fonder, he’s strengthening new friendships (and learning how kinky some of those friends can be), and he’s watching Renny get stronger. But she’s still frustrated by her limits, and not everyone seems to be ready for these changes and the influence that Perian has.

Brannal clearly cares for Perian and doesn’t want him to get hurt, but if Brannal has to pick between his duties and Perian, is Perian going to lose? Or can Brannal prove that he’s more than just the leader of the Mage Warriors?
